JOB TITLE: Wilderness Medicine Logistics Coordinator

REPORTS TO: Wilderness Medicine Staffing Director

JOB OBJECTIVE:  The NOLS Wilderness Medicine Logistics Coordinator works as the main logistical support to WMI faculty.  The Logistics Coordinator is an integral member of the Wilderness Medicine Staffing Team and ensures a smooth experience from home to course and back for Wilderness Medicine instructional staff. 

QUALIFICATIONS: The ability to develop a firm understanding of the Wilderness Medicine mission, organizational system, sponsor and instructor policies.  The Logistics Coordinator must possess the ability to work independently, solve problems creatively, and prioritize complex variables.  Strong communication, planning, and logistical skills are essential.  Required skills include computer literacy, database use, email capabilities, and experience booking travel online.  Preferred skills include course experience with Wilderness Medicine. 

The NOLS Headquarters is currently operating on a very limited basis.  This position is
currently remote though the employee will be expected to relocate to Lander, WY when
our Headquarters reopens. This position is available to legal residents of: Alaska,
Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Maine, Minnesota, Montana, New York, Utah,
Washington, and Wyoming.

LEADERSHIP OR SUPERVISORY DUTIES: Works closely with the Wilderness Medicine Staffing Director, Staffing Manager, Staffing Coordinator, and Staffing and Development Coordinators. Networks internally with all Wilderness Medicine administrative staff, and attends weekly department meetings.  Communicates regularly with Wilderness Medicine faculty and coordinates their travel to and from courses.  Functions as an integral member of the Wilderness Medicine Staffing Team.  Supervises the Wilderness Medicine travel budget ($300,000).

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

This is a full time position.
 
65%    Supports Wilderness Medicine faculty with course travel & logistics.  Attends weekly department meetings to understand instructor travel needs and works to arrange flight itineraries and ground transportation. 

15%    Works with NOLS Wilderness Medicine Program Team to process payroll and reimbursements for Wilderness Medicine faculty.

10%    Provides logistical support for the annual Wilderness Medicine Staff Meeting.

5%      Other Duties to support Wilderness Medicine Faculty (Support international visa process, track instructor certifications).

5%     Other Duties to support Wilderness Medicine office (Process instructor evaluations, event planning).
