JOB TITLE: Rocky Mountain Spring Seasonal Operations Assistant
REPORTS TO: Rocky Mountain Operations and Program Supervisor
JOB OBJECTIVE: This entry-level position provides an opportunity to learn and understand NOLS campus operations as a whole. This staff member will be integrated into team work for different departments, all working to create positive student experiences at a bustling NOLS location.
POSITION DATES: This will be a spring seasonal position (approximately 13 weeks) with the potential of continuing through the summer. The position will plan on 40 hours of work per week, with odd hours and occasional weekends.
QUALIFICATIONS: Enthusiasm for creating and supporting a positive campus culture.Effective communication, flexibility, tolerance for adversity and a strong work ethic are all essential components for working at NOLS Rocky Mountain (RM).
LEADERSHIP OR SUPERVISORY DUTIES: The operations assistants will work with their supervisor to build a weekly work schedule based on the RM operating schedule. It requires being an excellent team member and caring for students.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the rations (field food) manager, equipment manager, and Noble Hotel manager by providing pre- and post-course support to our summer programs.
- Support the evacuation supervisor by picking up evacuated students at road access points. Driving responsibilities also include drives to regional airports and occasional doctor’s visits for students and staff.
- Assist the office manager, program supervisors, assistant director, and director with administrative work and other tasks including organizing pre-course and end-of-course paperwork.

MOTOR VEHICLE RECORD: Applicants must be at least 21 years of age by the position start date and possess a valid driver’s license. Must have a clean driving history and be able to meet the criteria for NOLS vehicle insurance coverage.
COVID-19 VACCINE REQUIREMENT: All employees who are not working remotely and who do not have regular contact with other employees or students are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, unless they meet a medical, disability or religion exemption and a reasonable accommodation is approved. Any COVID-19 vaccine approved by the World Health Organization (WHO) is an acceptable vaccine for the purpose of this policy. Full vaccination or an approved exemption is a condition of employment for all new employees as applicable.
