JOB TITLE: Rocky Mountain Office Manager

REPORTS TO: Rocky Mountain Assistant Director

JOB OBJECTIVE: Provide administrative, logistical, and organizational support to NOLS Rocky Mountain and its associated locations. 

QUALIFICATIONS: Possess a welcoming, positive attitude. Self-motivated and able to work independently. Function well as a member of a large team. Detail-oriented, organized, and dependable. Able to adjust priorities quickly and manage stress effectively. Experience with Microsoft Office and Google Suite is prefered.

LEADERSHIP OR SUPERVISORY DUTIES: Maintain NOLS Rocky Mountain office systems. Act as primary point of contact for the public via phone and walk-ins. Work with assistant director on seasonal operating plans and reporting. Includes some supervision of seasonal operations assistants and part-time staff. 

FUNDS AND/OR PROPERTY: Oversee office-related budget lines, including office supplies, office expenses, minor furnishings, computer supplies, printing, rent, etc. in the amount of roughly $100,000. This position manages $1500 in petty cash for NOLS Rocky Mountain operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Operational Support:

  • Aid the assistant director with preseason planning, seasonal logistics, and postseason reporting.
  • Assist in equipment, field rations, and transportation departments as needed. 
  • Travel advance oversight.
  • Database maintenance.
  • Pay postseason land use bills.

Office Supervision:

  • Provide prompt and friendly assistance, and excellent customer service. 
  • Manage and maintain map inventory, drug kit inventory, and office supplies.
  • Coordinate the computer deployment system throughout NOLS Rocky Mountain.
  • Create course paperwork folders and manage content. 
  • Manage hiring and employment paperwork. 
  • Maintain, update, and distribute land use permits to instructor teams. 
  • Manage petty cash. 
  • Pay bills to local merchants and pay rental/permit fees. 

Other duties depending on skill set, with the potential for NOLS field and/ or classroom teaching.

MOTOR VEHICLE RECORD: Applicants must be at least 21 years of age by the position start date and possess a valid driver’s license. Must have a clean driving history and be able to meet the criteria for NOLS vehicle insurance coverage.

WORK LOCATION AND CONDITIONS: NOLS Rocky Mountain, 502 Lincoln St, Lander, WY 82520. This is a full-time, salaried position with the possibility of field and/ or classroom teaching.
