JOB TITLE: River Base Evacuation and Campus Services Supervisor

REPORTS TO: River Base Manager

JOB OBJECTIVE: Oversee all evacuation logistics, support campus services and operations at the NOLS River Base. This person is the point of contact for visitor and course arrivals and departures, evacuees and instructors at the River Base. 

QUALIFICATIONS: Able to create a welcoming, inclusive campus for all employees, students and visitors. Effective verbal communication skills both one on one and with large teams. Necessary skills include self motivation, organized, demonstrating initiative, creativity and effective problem solving. Must be able to work flexible hours including some long days, weekends, and holidays.

LEADERSHIP OR SUPERVISORY DUTIES: Directly oversees seasonal Operations Assistant(s) and visiting support staff. Supervises field staff as well as in-town support staff during management of campus services and course support. Organizes and manages all logistics associated with evacuations, including drives around the rocky mountain west, doctors visits, student care and student separation logistics.

FUNDS AND/OR PROPERTY: Responsible for petty cash, credit cards and budgets associated with special projects and evacuations. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Represent NOLS and greet courses, instructors and visitors to River Base campus.
  • Manage communication and care for evacuated students out of NOLS Rocky Mountain River Base, including, communicating with families of evacuated students and arranging for and accompanying students to medical care.
  • Hire, train and supervise seasonal Operations Assistants.
  • Coordinate facilities maintenance and readiness for staff and student service.
  • Manage paperwork, protocols and testing for COVID-19.
  • Other duties as assigned by NOLS River Base Manager including fieldwork if qualified.
