JOB TITLE: NOLS Wilderness Medicine Admissions Officer
REPORTS TO: NOLS Wilderness Medicine Senior Admissions Officer
JOB OBJECTIVE: Wilderness Medicine Admissions Officers are the frontline support for over 25,000 students annually participating in two to ninety day wilderness medicine courses around the world. In this role you will provide enrollment, payment, scholarship & financial aid, academic credit, and certification support to students. Your daily tasks will include heavy phone and email correspondence in addition to payment processing, completion of cancellations and transfers of student enrolment, data entry, and filing.
QUALIFICATIONS: To be successful in this role you will need to enjoy working in a collaborative team environment, use excellent judgment and discretion to make autonomous decisions, and be committed to providing high quality customer service. You must have an eye for detail, the ability to maintain data accuracy and integrity, exemplary communication skills and a passion for inclusive practices. In addition, technological proficiency and experience working with reservation or booking softwares, VoIP phone systems, and Google and/or Microsoft Suite will be beneficial to the successful candidate.
SUPERVISORY DUTIES: None.
FUNDS AND/OR PROPERTY: Admissions Officers support business operations in the Wilderness Medicine department which is responsible for processing 8M in student tuition money and 0.5M in financial aid and discounts annually. They assist in reporting and payments to governmental agencies, credit granting partners, external funding entities, and scholarship providers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide marvelous customer service to all stakeholders by phone, email, & chat.
- Assist students in finding the appropriate course, processing enrollments, cancellation, transfers, payments and refunds.
- Support financial aid (AmeriCorp/529, Veterans Affairs) & scholarship requests.
- Bolster student, sponsor, and faculty relations with the admissions department.
- Perform data entry, maintaining excellent data integrity and accuracy.
- Collaborate with the NOLS Finance Team to resolve outstanding balance issues.
- Process continuing education and fellowship credits. Provide reports, course summaries and payment to accrediting agencies.

WORK LOCATION: This position has a strong preference for a candidate to be at the NOLS Headquarters in Lander, WY. If a remote option is offered you must be a legal resident of: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Maine, Minnesota, Montana, New York, Utah, Washington, or Wyoming.
This position starts at $17 per hour.
