JOB TITLE: NOLS Wilderness Medicine Admissions Officer
REPORTS TO: NOLS Wilderness Medicine Senior Admissions Officer
JOB OBJECTIVE: NOLS Wilderness Medicine offers 2-90 day wilderness medicine courses around the world for 25,000 students each year. Admissions Officers provide primary enrollment, financial aid, credit, and customer service support for students.
QUALIFICATIONS: Admissions Officers must be committed to providing high quality customer service, maintaining accuracy and integrity, and modeling inclusive practices. They must have exemplary communication skills focused on precision and empathy and demonstrate proficiency with technology including phone systems, computer based tools, and databases.
LEADERSHIP OR SUPERVISORY DUTIES: Admissions Officers must function effectively in a collaborative team environment to prioritize and share tasks. Admissions Officers interact and exchange information with Wilderness Medicine sponsors and external credit granting agencies.
FUNDS AND/OR PROPERTY: Admissions Officers support processing 8M in student tuition money and 0.5M in financial aid and discounts. They assist in reporting and payments to governmental agencies, credit granting partners, external funding entities, and scholarship providers. 

  • Set the tone for excellent customer service
  • Enroll students, process payments, support financial aid and discount requests
  • Manage course rosters including waitlists, cancelations, and transfers
  • Support specialized student needs and requests for accommodation
  • Provide customer support by phone, email, chat, and other technological tools
  • Market courses and assist students in course selection
  • Support Wilderness Medicine sponsors’ admissions related questions
  • Facilitate wilderness medicine certification delivery to graduates

WORK LOCATION: NOLS Wilderness Medicine Offices, NOLS Headquarters, Lander, WY. Our Headquarters is currently operating on a very limited basis.  This position is currently remote though it is likely the employee will be asked to relocate to Lander, WY when our Headquarters reopens. This position is available to legal residents of: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Maine, Minnesota, Montana, New York, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming.
