JOB TITLE: HR Generalist
REPORTS TO: HR Director
JOB OVERVIEW: The HR Generalist supports the organization in a wide range of HR activities, such as recruiting, benefits, departmental reporting, internal communication, and professional development. You will be a critical contributor on the HR team, supporting the evolution and improvement of our employee experience; this is a fundamental role and will be central to ensuring HR operational efficiency. This role interfaces openly and effectively with the HR team and all employees to coordinate, implement, and promote people strategies that support NOLS’ strategy, priorities, and vision. You will work with functional subject matter experts, team members, and leaders to complete tasks, and you will also serve as a sounding board and provide advice to employees on the appropriate interpretation and application of HR policies, processes and practices.

EXPERIENCE:
-
3+ years of relevant experience in HR
-
Understand HR core concepts such as benefits, career management, performance management, compensation, etc.

Experience with project managing resources to ensure successful completion of objectives

Preferred: Experience working in an HR Generalist, HR Specialist, People Operations, or HR Manager role
-
Preferred: Experience working with international counterparts within an organization that has offices/locations around the world
LEADERSHIP OR SUPERVISORY DUTIES: Must be able to prioritize daily job tasks and recognize when additional support is needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Se a trusted resource and point of contact for employees; you will establish and maintain strong relationships across the school

Safeguard confidential information
-
Assess, prioritize, and act on employee requests as needed and communicate needs that require additional support to the appropriate source (e.g., HRD, CPO, HR Global Compensation Specialist)

Partner closely with the HR Director to develop and execute deliverables against HR’s and NOLS’ strategic agenda.

Closely manage standard HR processes and programs (e.g., recognition, promotions, annual performance management, compensation, etc.); you will continuously review HR processes and suggest changes to improve efficiency and scalability

Advocate for and understand elements of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging; you will integrate this thinking into the culture & drive thinking and processes that will hold us accountable to these commitments

Oversee our benefit programs and administration, including health insurance, retirement, cultural, and wellness benefits; you will develop new strategies to optimize employee benefit experience

Partner with Finance to process payroll and benefits information

As directed by the HR Director, you will provide coaching to managers and leaders in addition to providing support and guidance in preparing related documentation (including reviewing performance improvement plans)

Ensure the effective support of our employees, the delivery of global project work, and location-specific process improvements

Stay abreast of changes in policy, laws, and trends, determine how they impact our community/organization and make recommendations

WORK LOCATION: NOLS world headquarters; Lander, Wyoming. Residents of Colorado, Utah, California, Washington, Idaho, and Montana are encouraged to apply, as remote work is an option (up to 10% travel required).
The starting pay range for this position is $37,722, dependent on experience. Other benefits include: 403 B, 403 B contribution after one year, Health Insurance, Dental Insurance, Vision Insurance, Flexible Spending account, Life Insurance, Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance, Long Term Disability, Employee Assistance Program, Paid Time off.
