JOB TITLE: Graphic Designer
REPORTS TO: Art Director
JOB OBJECTIVE: Works within a team to develop and design a range of marketing materials for print and web that serve the school and its mission. Translates complex concepts and data into visual illustrations/graphics and is responsible for upholding the NOLS brand standards. Creates and presents concepts to in-house clients and maintains excellent interdepartmental relationships. Provides supervisory-support and direction to design interns.
QUALIFICATIONS: Desired candidates will have a degree in graphic design and will display a strong interest in visual design (print + web) and branding. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite is required and proficiency in HTML and CSS is preferred. Experience working on digital files in a print production environment is essential. Strong photo selecting and editing skills are necessary. Excellent time management skills, communication skills, and ability to meet deadlines are essential for success in this role. Must possess a strong sense of concept development in addition to collaboration, research, problem-solving, and presentation skills. Knowledge of front-end web design or user experience design is desired. A positive attitude is a must!
LEADERSHIP OR SUPERVISORY DUTIES: Responsible for upholding the NOLS brand standards and ensuring that a project is executed effectively.
FUNDS AND/OR PROPERTY: No fiscal responsibilities.
- 60% - Visual design
- 20% - Project planning, intern support, project management, & administrative duties
- 20% - Print prep and printer communication and web implementation
