JOB TITLE: Account Associate, NOLS Custom Education
REPORTS TO: Account Manager, NOLS Custom Education
JOB OBJECTIVE: As part of a team, the NOLS Custom Education Account Associate supports Custom Education client services, which includes serving as the admissions officer and logistical coordinator for all NOLS Custom Education courses for which they are responsible. In Fall 2021, some of NOLS Custom Education’s admissions responsibilities will be transferred to the NOLS Expedition Admissions department. At that time, the Account Associates role will become less focused on admissions support for participants and more focused on supporting client relationships.
QUALIFICATIONS: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must be able to present a vibrant, positive and helpful attitude to a variety of diverse inquiries, whether in person, email, or over the phone. Must be proficient with computer programs used to manage student enrollment and course logistics. Must possess the ability to work independently and proactively within the larger department and the school. Preferred: Knowledge of NOLS course offerings, campuses, and mission.
LEADERSHIP OR SUPERVISORY DUTIES: The Account Associate has no supervisory responsibility, but this person requires strong cooperation and collaboration skills. NOLS Custom Education is a team-oriented atmosphere.
FUNDS AND/OR PROPERTY: Will assist in the processing of funds associated with student tuition monies. Occasionally responsible for purchases made with NOLS credit cards. Indirectly responsible for a significant amount of annual revenue.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
30% Simultaneously manages multiple course rosters. Registers students for courses; reviews and follows up as needed on course paperwork. Conducts a detailed screening of student health forms to determine eligibility in accordance with the NOLS Health Guidelines and Essential Eligibility Criteria. As needed, follows up by phone with students, parents, and medical professionals to write up a detailed profile of a student’s limiting health conditions for review by the Health Review Manager. Assists students in changing their student status: course transfers, cancellations, enrollment from waitlists, available openings, etc. Maintains current and accurate information in the student and course database.
25% Communicates with current and prospective students, parents and clients, through phone and email, sending pre-course information, troubleshooting technical website and student enrollment portal issues, and answering questions pertinent to the NOLS Custom Education program, equipment, course prospects, tuition, etc.
25% Works closely with Account Managers to support new and ongoing client relationships, including course logistics and programming for assigned courses. Assists in the logistics preparation for remote NOLS Custom Education courses and Leave No Trace courses, including: packing rations and equipment, making travel plans, and vendor communication. Supports NOLS locations and other departments as needed when implementing NOLS Custom Education courses.
10% Answers and provides information in response to telephone, mail, email and website inquiries including program capabilities, retail transactions, and frequently asked questions.
5% Assist other NOLS Custom Education staff in a variety of capacities. Executes administrative tasks related to specific course responsibilities.
5% Other duties as assigned.
This position has flexibility for field work and classroom teaching in the range of 2-8 weeks per year, approved on a case by case basis, depending on performance, schedule, and workload.

WORK LOCATION: NOLS Headquarters in Lander, Wyoming. Remote work, including working at NOLS campuses outside the U.S., will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
