Since we wrote to you in June, the search committee has met to discuss the backgrounds and experiences of many interested people, and this past week, the search committee began initial conversations with some of our top candidates. We will continue to engage with candidates throughout the summer and plan to gather in Boston in the fall for in-person meetings.

An Update From NOLS Presidential Search Committee Co-Chairs Danielle Dignan and Jane Fried
We are pleased to share with you an update on the selection of a firm to lead the search for NOLS’ next president.
The Executive Committee of the Board and Co-Chairs of the Search Committee spent a week interviewing search firms: Spencer Stuart, Isaacson Miller, and Potrero Group, who each demonstrated expertise in leading inclusive, rigorous executive search processes. Of those three firms, Spencer Stuart was selected for their alignment with NOLS’s mission, personalized approach to conducting searches, and collaborative partnership.
Moving forward, we will work directly with Mary Gorman, Aaron Mieszczanski, and Susan Clifford. As a preliminary step in the search process, Mary and Aaron will meet with members of the NOLS community to deepen their knowledge of the school and understanding of the qualities and experiences to seek in NOLS' next president. In the weeks ahead we will share more information about how the NOLS community can provide input into the search.
