About the expedition

Beyond cellphones, computers, and classrooms lies a wild world in wait. Push the edges of your capabilities and explore a vast and beautiful landscape on the Becket-Chimney Corners Leadership Expedition.

Lessons in the backcountry are relevant and lasting. You will experience a wilderness few people get to explore, conquer challenging terrain, and dig deep within yourself to rise to the various challenges the Alaskan wilderness presents.

Over three weeks backpacking in the wilderness you will redefine comfort by testing your physical, social, and emotional limits while learning new skills in an unfamiliar environment alongside your peers. Throughout your journey you'll grow closer to old friends and discover new ones as you converse, play, and learn together in camp and on trail. You'll laugh in raucous camp games and savor backcountry treats like homemade cinnamon rolls, creating memories along the way that will make you smile for years to come.

When you emerge from the wilderness, you'll be emboldened, confident, and challenge ready. You will not only become a skilled outdoor adventurer, but a passionate and capable leader equipped for future challenges in school, college, and life.
