The New Zealand Instructor Course will introduce you to NOLS’ philosophy, curriculum, and systems to build on the technical outdoor and leadership skills you already have during a 21-day course that will include a 19-day wilderness expedition. During the course, you will have opportunities to fine-tune your teaching skills through an in-depth examination of the NOLS curriculum.
*Only those with the permanent legal right to work in New Zealand are eligible.

There is NO TUITION COST to take the NZ Instructor Course. A NZ$500 equipment deposit is required to confirm a place once offered, refundable on course completion.
Prerequisites
Permanent legal right to work in New Zealand. Current wilderness medicine or remote first aid certification with at least 72 hours of instruction. NOLS NZ will offer an 80-hour wilderness first responder course prior to the Instructor Course at a highly subsidized cost. Basic adult CPR certificate with 4 hours of instruction. Minimum age is 21 years.
