JOB TITLE: NOLS Rocky Mountain Utah River Base Driver/Outfitting Assistant

REPORTS TO: NOLS Rocky Mountain River Base Manager

JOB OBJECTIVE: Drive all courses to and from field locations. Perform light maintenance on vehicle fleet. Provide logistical and equipment support for staff and students. Manage equipment inventory and ensure adequate supply, quality, and selection of equipment. Perform grounds upkeep and building maintenance.

QUALIFICATIONS: Must be a good team player, possess a zest for figuring things out, and demonstrate willingness/ability to work unsupervised. An excellent driving record is required. A current bus driving CDL desired. Knowledge of rafting, kayaking, and canoeing equipment use and its repair is desired. Ability to do light vehicle maintenance and upkeep is desired.

LEADERSHIP OR SUPERVISORY DUTIES:
Take the lead to provide efficient and timely logistical support. Provide vision to fellow staff members regarding selection, care, and use of course equipment.

FUNDS AND/OR PROPERTY: Responsible for all course equipment inventory and repair. Perform daily operational safety inspections on all fleet vehicles.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
55% - Provide transportation support for all course activities. Perform light maintenance on fleet vehicles. Perform daily operational safety inspections on all fleet vehicles.

25% - Maintain, inventory, organize, order and repair all course equipment. 

15% - Assist with building maintenance, as required.

5% - Special projects, as delegated by the Utah river base manager.

CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK:
 A criminal background check is required from all NOLS employees.

E-VERIFY: NOLS participates in E-verify. 

WORK LOCATION: NOLS Rocky Mountain River Program in Vernal, UT

WORKING CONDITIONS: This is a six to seven month position. Training and funding for CDL cost may be available to the committed candidate.

MOTOR VEHICLE CHECK: Applicants must be at least 21 years of age by the position start date and possess a valid driver's license. Must have a clean driving history and be able to meet the criteria for NOLS vehicle insurance coverage.
