Dave Baines

Dave Baines provides operational safety solutions to environmental scientists working in a broad range of environments and field conditions. Though his role supports the efforts of a small group of scientist, he has been successful in spreading the Risk Management message into the larger parent organization that doesn’t always realize what the scientists are up to or what Mr. Baines does to support them. Mr. Baines has a broad back ground including 12 years as a volunteer with Scouts Canada, a 7 year career as a commercial rafting guide, and over 10 years working in the outdoors in a variety of scientific/industrial roles. Mr. Baines acts as a trainer and mentor for improving the effectiveness of AMEC field crews, and has been instrumental in the development of AMEC’s integrated approach to project based safety and operational support.
