avid Uberuaga is a leader at Mount Rainier National Park since 1984 and Superintendent since 2002, Mr. Uberuaga has safely ushered the Park through several significant crises, including the current disaster recovery effort after unprecedented flooding in November, 2006. In 2001, the Department of the Interior honored Mr. Uberuaga with its Superior Service Award, noting, “since 1984, David Uberuaga’s integrity, intelligence, honesty, and personal warmth has been the single most cohesive force that held the Mount Rainier National Park organization together during difficult and controversial times.” At age 49, Mr. Uberuaga became the oldest Park Superintendent to summit Mt.
