When it comes time to tell your
parents what you want to do, point out
these facts. Your parents will start to think the
NOLS semester was their idea…
- College
Credit is available on all NOLS courses through the University of Utah. You can get 12-19
hours of credit for Semester Courses. (Talk with
your school advisor. This’ll be easier if
you have the transfer of credit in the bag!)
- NOLS tuition is a
heck of a deal compared with most college’s
tuition, fees, room and board, books and incidental
expenses.
- You won’t be calling
home asking for money because you won’t
be near a phone–Dominos doesn’t deliver
where you’ll be.
- While your parents won’t
know where you are, they will know where you aren’t. No bars, frat parties, tattoo parlors, or
Phish concerts in the backcountry.
- NOLS risk management
program is unparalleled.
- After your semester you’ll
come home a fit leader with inspiration and direction.
- If you are receiving credit for
your Semester you will be able to use your
federal financial
aid.
