What better way to start an MBA program than with a week of backpacking through the Wind River Range? These mountains are a rugged, glacier-carved range renowned for sheer granite walls and have become popular for fishing and climbing. You’ll work hard traveling over rocky and steep terrain, crossing rivers, and potentially climbing Wind River Peak, all the while being surrounded by glistening alpine lakes, perennial snow, and towering peaks.
The University of Wyoming MBA Cohort Formation Leadership Expedition is a seven-day field-based intensive expedition designed to develop leadership competence. Students will engage in a learning process whereby leadership and communication theories are grounded in repetitive practical experience and intentional reflection on leadership efficacy. The expedition will establish learning habits in teamwork and communication skills that will serve as the framework to integrate theoretical models with both academic and professional experiences.
The course will be based out of the Rocky Mountain Branch in Lander, WY, home of the NOLS International Headquarters. This small town also boasts great hiking trails and year-round climbing for those weekend adventures when taking a break from the books is your goal.
