Improve your leadership skills by exploring the Wind River Mountain range through this 7-day backcountry backpacking, llama supported, expedition designed for professional executives. Navigate the technical and environmental challenges of field-based learning that holds transferrable skills that will also serve your professional career. This expedition provides invaluable opportunities to see yourself in a dynamic wilderness setting, and to enhance not only your outdoor skills, but also your approach to leadership in new and challenging circumstances.

The Wind River Range is characterized by rugged, glacier-carved mountains renowned for its sheer granite walls and famous for its fishing. You travel through mountains surrounded by towering peaks, glistening alpine lakes and perennial snow. Immerse yourself in the natural environment and learn with fellow executives and professional outdoor leaders.

Successful expeditions require the same essential skills found in the professional world—effective communication, problem-solving, positive influence, and strategically delivering results. Return to your organization holding practical and transferable strategies with greater leadership effectiveness.

"The Executive Wind River course was the best experience in risk management I have had in thirty years in education and business leadership." - Stephen Wrage, Professor at US Naval Academy

“The NOLS expedition skills, experienced instructors, and fascinating executive-level colleagues gave me new perspectives on past and future professional contributions in public service and natural resources. The wilderness immersion and the lessons in backcountry skills, risk management, and leadership now inspire and energize me, returning to the ‘front-country’ of work, relationships, and life.” - Anne S. Fege, Ph.D., Retired Forest Supervisor, US Forest Service, and Chair, San Diego Children and Nature Collaborative
