Consulting Services
Through our risk management consulting services, you can receive professional audits that will improve the way you handle the inherent hazards of taking people into remote and wild places. Risk management reviews can be completed on site, in the field, or via paperwork submissions. NOLS risk management staff is trained to review the following for your organization:
- Emergency response systems, including crisis management, working with the media, and working with the family
- Field support services, including equipment, vehicles and rations
- Administrative practices, including staff hiring, training and curriculum development
At NOLS, we have our own risk management department that focuses exclusively on studying risk management protocols, creating industry-standard practices and gathering data on student evacuations. Each year, NOLS publishes one of the leading texts on risk management incidents. The school also is the lead sponsor for the Wilderness Risk Management Conference.
