Adventure Collection Welcomes NOLS As The First Educational Member

December 3, 2003
San Francisco, CA

Adventure Collection welcomes NOLS (National Outdoor Leadership School) as the first educational member.  Adventure Collection is an association of ten of the finest adventure travel companies in the world, providing an array of travel options to adventure seekers of all abilities and interests.  NOLS, a non-profit school, with 39 years of experience and curriculum development, provides college credit programs in wilderness education with sites in the Americas, India, Australia and New Zealand.

Larry Mogelonsky, executive director of Adventure Collection said, "We are privileged to have NOLS join Adventure Collection and feel our common values will enhance both organizations defining for the future our commitment to wilderness protection and education."
NOLS has taught over 75,000 students from all over the world from diverse backgrounds - students, entrepreneurs, educators and astronauts.  More than 75 percent of NOLS students who are of college age use their NOLS course for a college credit, transferring them to over 400 US colleges.

John Gans, executive director of NOLS said, "NOLS graduates who originate from the streets of New York to the remote reaches of Patagonia, say the skills learned at NOLS are the best opportunity in the world today to practice being a leader.  By being an educational member of Adventure Collection we can work together towards common goals."
