NOLS Eligible for Americorps Stipends

LANDER, WY - May 3, 2001 -- Students wishing to attend the National Outdoor Leadership School with the assistance of an Americorps stipend may now do so. An agreement signed recently with Central Wyoming College (CWC) opens the door for Americorps participants enrolled on NOLS courses offered in Wyoming to receive CWC credit and process their educational stipends.

This is great news for Americorps participants and for NOLS. "We recognize Americorps participants to be highly motivated individuals who really care about their communities. These are precisely the type of students we love to introduce to NOLS unique brand of education," said Bruce Palmer, NOLS director of admission and marketing when announcing the arrangement.
