The Long Walk
Starting
in September 2004 Dave
Anderson (NOLS Instructor), Ant Chapin
(NOLS Instructor), Keri Bean (NOLS grad), Lauren Edwards
(NOLS grad and Marketing Intern) left on a three
month expedition to Europe and Asia.
The Goals of the expedition:
- Retrace the 8,000 mile journey of Slavomir
Rawicz, chronicled in the book The Long
Walk, from Moscow to Siberia then
south through Mongolia, China, Tibet and
India.
- Document the changes to the environment
and local people over the last 60 years,
through photos and film.
- Work with Medicines
Global (GB) providing medical supplies
to remote communities along the journey.
