529 College Savings Plans
Students wishing to attend NOLS with the assistance of their 529 College Savings Plan may do so. An agreement with Western State Colorado University (WSCU) allows NOLS students to use their 529 Plan and receive WSCU credit.
1. Apply to NOLS.
- Be sure to tell your NOLS admissions officer you intend to use your 529 College Savings Plan.
2. Complete the Western State Colorado University (WSCU) NOLS Registration Packet and forward it to WSCU Extended University Studies program.

May I use my 529 College Savings Plan toward any NOLS course?
Yes. You can apply your funds to any NOLS course.
Is there a cost to use my 529 College Savings Plan?
You must pay WSCU tuition and fees per credit hour. WSCU will retain that cost from your 529 Plan funds. Most NOLS programs are 2- to 12-credit programs. The cost for WSCU credit is $125 per credit.
Where do I send my 529 Plan Funds?
Have your 529 Plan Funds sent to WSCU. The University will retain the cost for college credit awarded for your course and forward the remaining funds to NOLS.
Will my WSCU credits transfer to my current school?
