This remote range is also famous for mountaineering expeditions that have a perfect blend of glacier travel, snow ascents, and rock climbing.
You’ll learn fundamental mountaineering skills such as belaying, rappelling, climbing techniques, and anchor placement—all while traveling over, around, and through the rocky, steep terrain of the Wind Rivers.
Your route will allow you to learn rock, snow, and ice climbing techniques that will lead to longer, more technical climbs like the 13,804-foot Gannett Peak, Wyoming’s highest mountain. At the same time, you’ll master the camping, hiking, and leadership skills necessary to thrive in the mountain environment and beyond.
