Wyoming Backpacking Adventure

Having fun, learning about the outdoors, traveling from camp to camp, rock climbing, fly fishing, exploring and achieving—that’s what a NOLS Backpacking Adventure is all about! And a Wyoming Backpacking Adventure is a true wilderness expedition designed for young people.

For the entire 30 days of the course, your mode of travel will be your own two feet, not a crowded van. You’ll be with students your own age and NOLS instructors who aren’t just summer staff but some of our most skilled and highly trained educators who specialize in teaching teenagers.

Gain independence and take responsibility for yourself and your companions. Learn outdoor living skills, but also learn how to get along with your group and how to be a leader even when you are in the back of the pack. If you do, when you get back home, you’ll have the skills to enjoy outdoor activities on your own and the leadership qualities to help you step it up in the classroom, on the playing fields, or anywhere you want to succeed.
