What NOLS teaches cannot be learned in a classroom or on a city street. It takes practice to learn outdoor skills and time to develop leadership. The wilderness provides the ideal setting for this unique education.
Our hands on, learn-by-doing approach means that our graduates get the skills they need to be competent, responsible wilderness travelers long after their course is over.
Veteran Benefits at NOLS
Use your VA benefits at NOLS. The National Outdoor Leadership School is approved for Veterans Benefits according to Title 38, United States Code. Only courses based out of Wyoming are eligible for approval through the VA.

Use your VA benefits with Central Wyoming College for the following approved NOLS courses that are part of the "Associate of Science In Environmental Science and Leadership" degree program. VA benefits can be applied to the following NOLS courses only if the applicant is an enrolled, degree-seeking student at CWC:
