Adirondack Backpacking - Prime

Adirondack Backpacking - Prime

  • Explore the High Peaks Wilderness
  • Designed to fit your schedule
  • Spectacular fall foliage
  • Convenient location
  • Opportunity to climb an Adirondack “46er”
As autumn rolls into northern New York’s Adirondack State Park with its spectacular foliage, the tourists roll out, making this the perfect time to get into the High Peaks backcountry.

Whether it’s your backyard or on the other side of the world from you, getting into the Adirondacks is easy and, for many, a short drive. NOLS Prime courses are designed with working adults in mind, so we’ve accounted for your travel time when setting course dates and condensed the classic course experience into nine days.

However, an expedition with NOLS is not just any hiking vacation. You will challenge yourself, gain trust and support from your coursemates, and progress through NOLS’ curriculum to develop your leadership skills to take back to the frontcountry.

You’ll also have the opportunity to climb a few “46ers”, the Adirondack high peaks over 4,000 feet, while you’re exploring the premier wilderness destination of the Northeastern U.S.
