About the Authors:
Buck co-founded the Wilderness Medicine Institute (WMI) and, although currently sort-of-retired, serves as chair of the WMI Medical Advisory Panel and teaches courses now and then. He writes a lot, authoring, among other literary efforts, the WFR text, which got an award for excellence in medical writing. He received the Paul Petzoldt Award for excellence in wilderness education and the Warren Bowman Award for contributions to wilderness medicine. He lives in Lander, not far from the office.
