Alumni Keelboat Sailing
in British Columbia
Learn the art of keelboat sailing on this Alumni trip in the Pacific Northwest.The waters of the Gulf Islands and the Strait of Georgia in British Columbia are home for 9-days of sailing education. The technical curriculum is the same as a NOLS semester sailing section, focusing on boat handling under power and sail, navigation, seamanship, and on-board living skills. You’ll be sailing and living aboard mid sized (36 feet) cruising sailboats. In addition to the boating skills, you’ll rotate through various crew positions, including meal preparation for the team. Enjoy the Pacific Northwest’s striking scenery while sharing quarters with a few other participants and an instructor. After this seminar, you should have the ability to sailwith an experienced crew.
International Sail and Power Association (ISPA) Competent Crew certification is available for those interested. If you already have ISPA Competent Crew Certification you may work toward Day Skipper Certification on this trip as well.
