This question offers the opportunity that every NOLS Alumni Rep dreams of. Will you fumble it or will you clearly tell them about NOLS? For most of us, this is a very difficult question to answer because our NOLS courses offered both the best experiences of our lives and the most challenging.

Being prepared when the opportunity knocks is critical to your success as an Alumni Rep. NOLS has developed a series of message points that make it easy to talk about the school. They capture the essence of what NOLS is and what makes us unique in the world of education. This is simply an outline. You’ll want to combine the points with your own personal stories to better illustrate the NOLS message.

NOLS stands out in the world of outdoor education with:

• Focus: We are the only school that focuses exclusively on teaching outdoor skills, leadership and environmental studies to highly motivated individuals.
• Organization: Unlike programs run by subcontractors, NOLS is centrally administered at the NOLS headquarters in Lander, Wyoming, so you get the same high quality expertise wherever you take your course.
• Expertise: NOLS has the most experienced, well-rounded instructional staff in outdoor education. NOLS instructors have completed special training and on-course apprenticeships with NOLS before being certified to teach.
• Satisfaction: More than 97% of NOLS graduates report being satisfied with their experience, and 97% would recommend NOLS to a friend.
