The global NOLS community is made up of the school's 75,000 alumni, their parents, NOLS staff and other friends of the school. Each year, thousands of these individuals support the school's work with a tax-deductible donation.

• Every year, over 2000 people make a gift to the NOLS Annual Fund. Money donated to this fund goes straight to work—for scholarships and other vital annual expenses at the school.
  
• In addition to guiding overall school policy, the NOLS Board of Trustees provides the backbone of the school's fundraising efforts, both through their financial commitment and by volunteering their dedication, expertise and enthusiasm.
  
• The NOLS Advisory Council also provides leadership and guidance in multiple areas at NOLS.
  
• In 2006, NOLS completed the $10 million International Base Camp Initiative, which established a new international headquarters building and allowed for the renovation of the historic Noble Hotel. Near the end of the campaign, NOLS recieved a $500,000 capstone grant from the prestigious Kresge Foundation.
