Each year, the NOLS Annual Fund produces a calendar made up of photography from our beloved NOLS students and instructors. In the fall, the calendar gets sent out to over 20,000 graduates, parents and supporters of the NOLS family showing the vast reach and impact of donated dollars.

HOW TO ENTER: Send in NO MORE THAN 3 digital images (your best ones) from your NOLS course(s). If the guidelines are not followed your photos may be disqualified, so please check them out: Photo Submission Guidelines & Instructions (pdf)

DEADLINES: The deadline for submission is 11:59 pm Mountain Standard Time on July 18, 2010.

WHAT WE LOOK FOR: Clear and striking digital images that epitomize life and landscape from your NOLS experience. Our goal in compiling the calendar is to best represent NOLS, its course areas and its technical skill activities. We try to include a photo from every branch location (i.e. Patagonia, Alaska, Rocky Mountain, etc…) and also try to represent every skill we teach (i.e. climbing, hiking, caving, etc…) in the calendar. We like to see people in the shots, but not always as the main focus—we also like to be able to identify with the place.

WINNING PHOTOS: The judging panel is made up of NOLS staff members familiar with photography and responsible for selecting images for various NOLS printed and online marketing materials. The judging panel will select 16 photos to be published in the 2010 NOLS Annual Fund Calendar. NOLS shall determine winner eligibility in its sole and absolute discretion. All decisions made by the judges are final. The winning photographers will be notified by phone or email on or by September 15, 2010 and at that point will receive information about their selected photo and about their prizes for winning. NOLS reserves the right to adjust any deadline(s) as the result of causes beyond its immediate control.

PRIZE FOR WINNING: Well, you’ll have bragging rights and the satisfaction of knowing your photo will be seen and enjoyed by over 20,000 others in the NOLS community. Plus, you will receive an Osprey React Daypack. This daypack is made of 76% recycled content so you can do your part to support the planet.
