JOB TITLE: Wilderness Risk Management Conference (WRMC) Internship
REPORTS TO: Wilderness Risk Management Conference (WRMC) Manager
INTERNSHIP DATES: Late May—Late November (approximate)
JOB OBJECTIVE:
The Wilderness Risk Management Conference (WRMC) is a professional conference that brings together over 300 outdoor industry professionals to discuss managing and mitigating risk. Job responsibilities primarily focus on planning and executing the three-day conference, which will be held in Grand Teton National Park, in late September, early October. This internship allows for a variety of event planning projects involving independent work, collaboration among a small team, and interaction with leaders at NOLS, Outward Bound, and the Student Conservation Association.

- Proficient with Microsoft Office and willingness to learn new systems
- Commitment to excellent customer service
- Comfortable initiating professional communication via email, phone, and in-person
- Ability to infuse energy and creativity into special projects
FUNDS AND/OR PROPERTY:
Receives and processes WRMC fees and tuitions, manages Conference signage and property, oversees and administers registration information systems.
COMPENSATION:
This six-month internship includes a $125.00 per week stipend, equipment rentals, optional college credit, the possibility to attend a NOLS/LNT Seminar, and free WRMC attendance.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
85% Assist with the logistical support for the Wilderness Risk Management Conference; to include registration, exhibitor recruiting, attendee communication, on-site details, and post-Conference wrap-up.
15% Assist in logistical organization and follow through of NOLS Professional Training custom courses, Leave No Trace courses, and Risk Management Trainings
