Position: Wilderness Medicine Institute Internship - Lander, WY
Internship Season: Winter/Spring 2008. Start Date Flexible (before February 1, 2008)

Position Length: 3 months
Internship Objective: To assist the WMI Curriculum Director with the design and production of educational slide shows and posters to support the WMI Curriculum.
Responsibilities: This internship focuses on the design and production of educational slide shows and posters to support the WMI Curriculum. Interns will also work with the WMI Curriculum Director and WMI staff on projects that help support WMI needs and operations, such as preparing gear sets and office tasks.
Qualifications:
- WMI Graduate
- Training in graphic design/art and experience with Powerpoint and “In Design” or similar software.
- Self-initiative and motivation.
- Excellent critical thinking and communication skills.
- Ability to work well with a dynamic team and independently.
- Energetic with positive attitude.
- Thorough, punctual, dependable.
- An understanding of the WMI of NOLS mission and educational style.
Criminal Background Check: A criminal background check is required for all NOLS employees.
Skill Development/ Special Opportunities may Include:
- 3D Defensive training and driving for NOLS Rocky Mountain (potential to earn money above the internship stipend)
- Attend NOLS school meetings and trainings (as availability allows)
- Attend WMI’s Annual Staff Meeting
- Equipment rental when gear is available at NOLS Rocky Mountain
- Tuition discount on an approved WMI course.
- Exposure to the variety of skills and expertise needed to operate a large wilderness medicine education school
Compensation: A stipend of $100/week is provided
Housing and Meals: Not provided.
