JOB TITLE: NOLS Rocky Mountain Assistant Kitchen Manager
REPORTS TO: NOLS Rocky Mountain Kitchen Manager
JOB OBJECTIVE: Prepare and serve meals for NOLS courses before departure and upon return from the field. Provide meals for students while in transit to and from the field. Maintain a clean, sanitary and organized workplace. Understand the course schedule and supervise other kitchen staff.
QUALIFICATIONS: Food service and cooking experience are necessary, along with basic computer skills. Must enjoy hard work and attention to detail. Flexible hours are required; the schedule includes early mornings and some weekend work. Must be self-motivated and perform assigned tasks without supervision. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Must qualify to drive NOLS vehicles.
LEADERSHIP AND/OR SUPERVISORY DUTIES:
Supervision of part-time assistants and seasonal assistants.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
70% - Assist with meal preparation and serve as head cook for assigned meals. Be able to feed small groups without assistance. Clean and maintain dining room and serving area. Help with all aspects of kitchen cleanup. Observe all food safety regulations.
15% - Plan and execute preparation of scheduled road food.
10% - Plan meals and order groceries in the absence of the kitchen manager. Will purchase groceries in Lander and will assist with maintaining financial records.
5% - Special projects as assigned, including NOLS field work, if qualified.
WORK LOCATION: Noble Hotel, NOLS Rocky Mountain - Lander, Wyoming
CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK: A criminal background check is required from all NOLS employees.
