JOB TITLE: NOLS Professional Training sales coordinator
REPORTS TO: Professional Training director
JOB OBJECTIVE: The NOLS Pro sales coordinator is responsible for promotion and sales of NOLS Pro offerings to all current and potential clients. Will lead NOLS Pro in defining, researching and communicating with potential future clients. Will work with NOLS Pro director, and marketing coordinator to create a comprehensive and strategic sales plan for all current and future offerings of NOLS Pro.
The purpose of NOLS Professional Training is to serve the mission of NOLS by:
- Offering mission centered & core-curriculum educational opportunities to a broad audience.
- Generating a positive revenue stream.
- Functioning as a research and development center within NOLS.
These services include: risk management consulting, leadership and teamwork training, skill focused seminars, as well as presentations and conferences. Clients range from high school students to corporate groups. Possible audiences may include schools (high school, college and graduate), non-profit organizations, corporate groups, and other professionals in the outdoor education industry.
QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize and problem solve are essential. Travel is necessary. Sales or marketing background is essential. NOLS instructor with a broad program experience is preferred. Experience or willingness to learn the necessary computer applications to perform the job is required—NOLS database applications, Word and Excel. A NOLS alumnus is preferred.
LEADERSHIP OR SUPERVISORY DUTIES: Possible direct supervision of the NOLS Pro marketing coordinator, and NOLS Pro sales/marketing intern. Closely work with NOLS Pro director, NOLS marketing manager, word of mouth coordinator and PR/partnerships manager.
FUNDS AND/OR PROPERTY: Approximately $25,000 of sales/marketing and travel budget.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
50% Creation, implementation and updating of marketing/sales plan for NOLS Pro. Which includes:
- identifying and targeting potential NOLS Pro clients
- development of phone, mail, and email sales plan
- travel representing NOLS and NOLS Pro with NOLS Pro clients, conferences and events
25% Communication and relationship building with current customers
15% Working with NOLS Pro marketing coordinator to create NOLS Pro sales and marketing materials including:
10% Other duties as assigned
