JOB TITLE: Alumni Programs Coordinator
NOTE: This is a ¾ time position. Serious consideration will be given to current instructor applicants who can fill this position as an in-town and field/WMI split.
REPORTS TO: Alumni Relations Director
JOB OBJECTIVE: The alumni programs coordinator is responsible for the development, marketing, management and execution of NOLS alumni trips, seminars, and special events that offer continuing education and a continued NOLS experience/connection.
QUALIFICATIONS: Successful candidates must possess a firm understanding of NOLS curriculum and mission, and have the ability to represent all aspects of NOLS to a variety of audiences. This position requires the ability to work independently and to prioritize multiple duties. Strong communication, planning and logistical skills are essential. Required skills include knowledge of database applications, Word, Excel, and FileMaker Pro. Preferred skills include NOLS Course Leader status with varied field experience; first aid and CPR certification; web editing and writing skills. Qualified NOLS expedition and WMI graduates are urged to apply.
LEADERSHIP OR SUPERVISORY DUTIES:This position networks internally with alumni relations staff, development, recruitment, staffing, and branch coordinators, and externally with cooperating groups to design, implement and manage trips, seminars and special events. Position duties include budget management, marketing and promotion, planning, enrollment of participants, customer service, staffing, record maintenance, and risk management details. This position may supervise the Alumni Offerings Brochure publication, seasonal department interns and facilitate staff briefings.
FUNDS AND/OR PROPERTY: Tracks and administers a budget of approximately $190,000.
70% - Execute the planning, staffing, risk management, logistics, marketing, enrollment, customer service, evaluation and follow-up for alumni trips and seminars. Coordinate events with various NOLS HQ offices, branches, alumni associations, and outfitters around the world. Organize and review field paperwork and coordinate evacuations. Brief and debrief instructors. Follow up on communications with event participants.
20% - NOLS alumni website editing, creation of articles, marketing materials and database documentation. Seasonal supervision of department intern.
10% - Track financial details, enrollment trends and budget projections. Other duties as assigned, including some event-oriented travel.
WORK LOCATION: NOLS Headquarters, Lander, Wyoming
