Charles (Reb) R. Gregg
Position: Legal counsel for NOLS Board of Trustees

Reb came to NOLS as a participant on an Alaskan Sea Kayaking course in 1979. He has a bachelor’s degree and a law degree from the University of Texas. He also attended Harvard Divinity School.
In addition to serving as legal Counsel for the NOLS Board of Trustees, he represents a number of other outdoor programs and lectures and consults frequently around the country on the issues of risk management and legal liability in outdoor programs.He is co-editor of The Outdoor Education. Reb was recently described by Outside Magazine as "the Dean of the Outdoor Bar."
Reb is senior fellow of the American Leadership Forum. He is a past president of the Houston Bar Association and the board of directors of the State Bar of Texas. He is president of The Friends of Big Bend National Park and a board member of the Student Conservation Association. He practices law in Houston with an emphasis on business litigation and issues of outdoor adventure programming.
Reb is an avid sailor, tennis and racquetball player and reader. He and his wife reside in Houston and have four children, three of whom are NOLS graduates.
Reb became a NOLS board member in 1979 and served as Chair of the NOLS Board of Trustees during the early eighties in addition to serving as Secretary and Treasurer during his terms as Trustee. He is legal Counsel for NOLS and serves as an advisor to the Risk Management Committee.
