Marc Randolph is a veteran Silicon Valley entrepreneur, high tech executive, and start-up consultant. Prior to founding Netflix, Marc was on the founding team of more than half a dozen other successful start-ups in the e-commerce, media, enterprise software and portable device markets – all of which went on to IPOs or other liquidity events. He currently provides advice and/or sits on the boards for numerous high tech startups in the areas of product marketing, product management, and general management.
Marc took the first of more than half a dozen NOLS courses when he was 14 and went on to work as a NOLS instructor for several years in the early 80s. He came back to the school in 2006 with a two-week backcountry snowboarding course in the Tetons and an alumni climb of Rainier in 2008. Marc has served on the NOLS Advisory Council prior to joining the NOLS Board of Trustees.
Marc lives with his wife Lorraine and their three children in the Santa Cruz mountains. Marc is an avid climber, surfer, mountain biker, and snowboarder. His son Logan and daughter Morgan are both three time NOLS graduates, and his youngest son Hunter recently returned from his first NOLS expedition in the Bighorns.
