F. Fox Benton III

Fox first took a Wyoming Adventure course with NOLS in 1981. In 1995 he returned for a 17-day 25 and over mountaineering course at NOLS Pacific Northwest branch, where he met his wife Monica.
In 1989 Fox graduated cum laude with a BA in economics from Dartmouth College. He continued his education at Stanford Graduate School of Business, receiving his MBA as an Arjay Miller Scholar in 1998.
Since 1989 Fox has worked in the international and domestic energy business, first with Walter International (1989-1995) and until February 2005 was the Chief Financial Officer and Vice President for Ultra Petroleum Corp. Fox has had direct responsibility for various functions including finance, accounting, investor relations, business development, operations, government relations, environmental policy, IT and commodity sales and marketing.
In 1998, Fox was also a fly-fishing and river guide in Alaska. Fox is a trustee of the Houston Museum of Natural Science. Fox and Monica have two young children, a son, Fox Benton IV and a daughter, Abigail Elizabeth Benton. Fox was elected to the NOLS board of trustees in 2005. He serves on the Finance/Audit Committee, the Strategic Initiative Committee and the Information Systems Committee.
