R. Flip Hagood, Secretary
Elected to the NOLS Board: June 2004
Flip is the Senior Vice President for Strategic Initiatives for the Student Conservation Association (SCA) and focuses on strategic initiatives and business development. Prior to joining SCA he worked for the Department of Interior for 30 years, and in his last position at the National Park Service served as its Director of Training and Education. He currently is a member of the Governing Council of The Wilderness Society, the Board of Directors for the Institute of Conservation Leadership, and the Board of Directors for the National Association for Interpretation. He also serves as an advisor for numerous organizations including the Department of Interior’s Blacks in Government Chapter, and the Friends of the High School for Environmental Studies NYC. He received his M.S. Degree from NOVA University in Florida and his B.S. Degree from American University in Washington, D.C. He is a certified Career Counselor and has advanced training and education in the fields of Human Resource Development and Instructional Systems Design.
