Douglas E. Dalquist

Elected to NOLS Board of Trustees: 2006
NOLS Graduate: 1968 Wilderness Expedition Course

Current NOLS instructor, Doug Dalquist, was elected to the NOLS Board of Trustees in June 2006. He first came to NOLS as a student on a Wilderness Expedition Course. He has worked in every decade of the school’s history. Doug serves on the Risk Management Committee and the Public Policy Committee.

Doug has a degree in physics from Michigan State University. He has instructed for Outward Bound in the United States, Canada, and Australia, as well as a number of other outdoor programs, including two of his own devising.

For rest and relaxation Doug climbs mountains; including Everest, K2, Denali, and the volcanoes of Mexico. Doug and his wife, Donja, currently live in Vancouver with their three children; a son and two daughters.
